Bringing together theatre and art, Centaur: Half Horse, Half Artist is a fully immersive, interactive comedy/theatre show with an accompanying exhibition. In Centaur award-winning comedian Jesse Griffin plays contemporary artist Clifton, who is mounting a retrospective exhibition of his life's work. Open to the public during the day, the space is set up as a gallery with a number of art works on display: video art, paintings, kinetic and static sculptures. In the evenings the audience attend the show as if going to an exhibition opening. Griffin performs a number of live performance art pieces, shows art videos and provides a walk around the exhibition explaining the art, while engaging in dialogue with the audience.
Centaur: Half Horse, Half Artist is a ridiculous and absurdist satire on art and contemporary society and an insight into one man's battles with his muse, his ego and his insecurities.
